In spite of all the modern technology in cars today, it remains a sad fact that thousands of motorists break down away from home every year, particularly during the winter months.
Many of the most common faults can easily be avoided by spending 30 minutes every month checking over your car.
But as most drivers don't bother, the alternative of buying a road rescue package is a wise precaution as you never know when you might need it.
European Rescue:
If you often take your car to the continent it is worth considering a European breakdown policy.
Some insurers may provide this additional service with their car insurance policy at no additional charge. Check the policy wording and in particular note the duration of the 'free' period.
Some of the benefits of cover include:
The cost of travelling home if your car is stolen.
The return of your vehicle if it cannot be driven.
Legal cover and payment for the delivery of replacement parts if they are not available locally.
